On Thursday morning, November 6 there was a fatal hit and run crash on West Florissant.

According to authorities the accident happened shortly before 8 a.m. when a Toyota Corolla being driven by 87 year old Willie Wilson in the westbound lane of West Florissant Avenue was rear ended by an SUV and was pushed into traffic, hitting a pickup truck near Robin Avenue.

Wilson, of the 5100 block of Lexington Avenue, was taken to the hospital in critical, unstable condition, but was later pronounced dead.

Surveillance video shows that the SUV, which appears to be a light tan Chevrolet Tahoe or GMC Yukon, with a large sticker or decal in the back window fled the scene and police are actively looking for the vehicle. They have no description of the driver.
